Sharing insights on digital bunkering at the Oman Maritime Forum

From April 28 to 30, our General Manager Silvia Bordoni took part in the 2025 edition of the Oman Maritime, Ports and Energy Forum. Held in Muscat, the event offered industry stakeholders valuable insights into how the region is adapting to evolving global trade flows, technological advancements, regulatory developments, and the energy transition.

Silvia Bordoni represented Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers (S) Pte Ltd as a panellist in the “Session Three: The Transformative Power of Data in Shipping and Bunkering”.  Along with other important industry leaders from TFG Marine, SOHAR Ports and Freezone and Metcore International, Silvia shared practical insights from the perspective of a bunker tanker owner, addressing some questions from the audience.

She highlighted how tools such as mass flow meters (MFM) and digital bunkering (e-BDN) have significantly enhanced transparency and efficiency — but also emphasized that robust regulatory frameworks, like those in the Singapore port, are essential for realizing their full potential.

The following day, Silvia was also on board our company-owned bunker tanker Margherita Cosulich, with a group of conference delegates.  Margherita Cosulich is currently chartered to TFG Marine (please tag them) and she is currently the only bunker tanker in Oman equipped with a mass flow meter, ISO 22192 compliant, certified by Metcore International Pte Ltd.  An important occasion for guests to discover the mass flow meter, the cargo control room, having a real-life overview of how digital bunkering works.
