Two LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) tanks were hoisted by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co. (CIMC SOE) on an LNG bunker vessel ordered by the Fratelli Cosulich Group.

The lift of the LNG storage tanks was a challenge for the shipyard, as they had to be hoisted from an inclined berth. CIMC SOE's competent departments have therefore conducted extensive research in advance, developing precision protocols linked to solutions for lifting the LNG tanks.

Project representatives, company and department managers and a classification society were present on site to assist in the process.

The operation was successful and marked a milestone in the construction of an LNG bunker ship.
